COUNTDOWN TIL WE HAVE MORE PUPS AVAILABLE

DUE DATE
Here at October Glory Standard Poodles we work towards producing sound, healthy puppies, both mentally and physically. Our dogs are DNA health tested for Poodle specific disease before they are bred, and some are shown in UKC conformation only. We prefer showing UKC and support UKC breed standard for the poodle breed although our pups will be AKC registered. All October Glory Standard pups will be eligible for UKC registration for showing. Our mission to improve the quality, health and temperament of Multicolored Poodles is heavily valued in our breeding program.

We run a fairly small breeding program, currently with only one breeding female, and one male. All of our dogs live inside and are members of the family. The pack sleeps with each other or with us, which ever they prefer, every night. Our dogs join us for everything except grocery shopping and doctors appointments. Our dogs are family above anything else. Many of our pups go to Guardian homes and Co-owners to assure they receive plenty of individual care and attention. We want the absolute best for our dogs so if you think you can provide a outstanding home don't hesitate to contact us.
*We WILL NOT sell to commercial breeding facilities, USDA licensed breeders with an abundance of dogs already, puppy mills, backyard breeders and we do not sell our dogs to breeders who do not health test their breeding dogs.
*We support and encourage responsible, ethical breeding and research is the beginning of that. Everyone starts somewhere so don't be discouraged. Keep researching and learning if you have the goal of becoming a breeder. We need more responsible breeders to preserve our beloved breed. If you are new we are happy to help you get started on this wonderful, rewarding journey to becoming a reputable breeder and/or exhibitor. Please Don't be afraid to ask us about getting started as a breeder.

Our purpose for breeding is to produce excellent quality, well rounded dogs suitable for a variety of households. Some of our dogs (every dog is different) used in our breeding program will be shown in UKC conformation and will title as a champion before being bred. We also work our dogs in the field, some agility and other performance events along with Nosework. We want our dogs to be more than just "show dogs" or "pets" we want dogs that have drive but not too much drive, and we want to assure all our dogs are suitable companions with sought-after personalities, temperaments and train-ability.

We expect October Glory Standard puppies to be placed in show homes, performance homes, companion homes and we hope selective puppies could be placed as service and therapy dogs as well. We don't breed bad temperaments or aggression, we breed for calm and cool temperaments with gentle nature. Real people pleasers. Puppies who want to be your best friend thru every part of your life.

Choosing the right puppy imageChoosing the right puppy image
What do you want in a dog?
Most people want a certain look or color and fail to choose wisely when it comes to their next pet. Well this is where a breeders job becomes even more important in the selection process. Choosing puppies from birth to 6 weeks of age varies from breeder to breeder. Many people want specific personality traits and energy levels, but they don't take that into consideration when choosing a puppy. At first. People tend to flock to the one they think looks the best instead of which one best suits their lifestyles. This can set a puppy and family up for failure. We don't want that. We want the best possible match.

Matching a pup to a person is the best way. Many people want to choose for themselves, but they don't know the puppies like the breeder does and if they want a specific personality or trait then it is best for the breeder to select the best possible match. That is the most responsible way to pick and choose. Let the breeder tell you about each puppy and make a wise decision instead of an impulsive one. Every puppy is different, even if they are from the same litter. Some are more timid than their confident litter mates and Vice Versa. Some have more energy than others. We are no longer allowing anyone to choose a puppy. All you need to do is tell us what you are looking for in a puppy and we will match you to the best pup we have for you.

*
We require a non-refundable total deposit of $500 to reserve any puppy at anytime.
ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND ARE AT THE BREEDERS DISCRETION!!! ALL FEES HOWEVER ARE TRANSFERABLE UP TO 2 TIMES ON A FUTURE LITTER IF DISCUSSED. No exceptions! Serious inquiries only.

Male puppies start at $2000 and females start at $2000. All pups come with FULL AKC Registration and must have our kennel name prefix at the beginning of their registered name if we have not assigned a name to the puppy.
We support a breeders right to claim their productions. As the producers of our puppies we want our name on them to represent our Kennel name (where they came from). This also helps figure out lineage (pedigree) just by seeing a dogs name.
Respect should always be given to the producer.
Guardianship INFO image
What is a Guardian home/Guardianship?
Well it is simply for when a breeder has several puppies they would like to keep (called "keeper" puppies) for their lines to continue to breed and show but don't necessarily want them to stay in their homes so they place the pups for a discounted price with a family under the agreement of the puppy being shown, titled and used for breeding in the breeder kennel program until retirement which would be when the breeder then alters the dog and transfers full ownership to that family. The breeder pays for all showing, travel for showing and breeding expenses. The family pays for regular vets checkups as usual, food etc for the dog as they would for any other pet. Providing the necessities is the responsibility of any pet owner.
Usually for female dogs the breeder would take the bitch back to show or breed her for 9 days or so and return her to the family after breeding so she is with the family during pregnancy. Once her due date is near the breeder again takes the bitch to have the pups and once the pups are ready for their new homes, mom comes back home to the family until bred again, etc. Males are only needed for showing and breeding for 9 days at a time.

What are the benefits of this program for the average family?
That is simple. A family is selected thru our application process and the benefits are you will be getting a high quality pet for a discounted price with a few stipulations along the way ending with full ownership once the dog is retired from breeding and showing. The other advantage is you won't have to pay for any showing or breeding fees, The breeder pays for everything showing and breeding related.

A Guardian Family gets the very best that October Glory has to offer in Standard Poodles! This means that we choose our breeding stock based on the best qualities that are outlined in our breed standard with health and temperament of course coming first. Another wonderful benefit to our Guardian Families is that their Guardian dog/puppy will be completely health tested by 18 months of age (some tests may be done as early as 16 weeks of age) at the expense of October Glory prior to entering our breeding program at no cost to the Guardian Family. Our Guardian Families get to enjoy the excitement of being a part of our breeding program, and seeing the offspring of their very own Guardian dog be placed with families across the country bringing others the same joy and happiness that they have received from their Guardian Dog!
  • October Glory will reimburse the Guardian Family for 2 6-week puppy kindergarten training classes such as offered at Pet Smart or your local breed club.
  • Or you may take advantage of us holding on to the puppy a little longer (2-4 months and training them before they leave us to come to you).
  • A $300 thank you for each litter the dog you have produces once the whole litter has sold.

What are the requirements to be a Guardian home?
To be considered as a Guardian Home for one of our breeding dogs, we require that you live within 2 hours of our home, (we live in El Reno, OK). It is necessary that you have physical fencing to provide a safe and secure environment for the Guardian dog/puppy, own your own home, and have a schedule that will allow for your dog to not be left alone for extended periods of time. All dogs and pups placed in Guardian Families must be indoor dogs, and never be left outside unattended. Guardian Families must have reliable transportation, and a willingness to bring the Guardian dog/pup to us when needed throughout the year. But chances are we would come to you and pick up the dog and deliver it back home to you safely.

Is there cost involved when being a Guardian home?
Yes, initially. We do not give our Guardian dogs or pups away. The cost of a Guardian Home dog/puppy requires a deposit of $300 like with any puppy for sale and the remaining balance of $200 (so $500 total for a guardian pup). When the Guardian puppy/dog has completed its breeding career for us, we will refund the entire deposit back to our Guardian Family as a way of saying “thank you” for participating in our Guardian Home Program.

Our Guardian Home Families are responsible for the general routine veterinary care and wellness of the Guardian puppy/dog placed with them. This means annual vaccines, feeding a high quality dog food, grooming, monthly heart worm prevention, flea/tick prevention, training, regular exercise and socialization, and most importantly all the love and care and attention possible!

Any “breeding related” medical costs for the Guardian Dog are the expense of October Glory Standard Poodles. Our Guardian Homes are only responsible for routine maintenance and medical care just as they would if they had their own dog.

How many litters will a Guardian female produce?
Each dog is individually assessed before determining their required litters. Most of our Guardian dogs will have between 2-5 litters for us (this depends whether you have an adult that has already had litters or a puppy entering our breeding program). Female Guardian Puppies placed in a Guardian home will have up to (and no more than) a total of 5 litters. The health and well being of our breeding dogs is a priority to us. Occasionally we may decide to have fewer litters if we have accomplished our goals in development of our Guardian dog in a shorter period of time. Again, this is determined by October Glory.

If you are interested in applying to be a Guardian Family please take the time to fill out puppy application first, and we are happy to contact you to discuss Guardian Home opportunities available!

What happens to the dog once they retire from breeding or showing?
Once the puppy you got grows up and is done with showing and breeding for good, the breeder will then pay to have the dog altered (Neutered or Spayed AKA fixed) and the breeder then will transfer full ownership to the family who has been caring for the dog all along. We wouldn't take a beloved family member after such a long time with them. The only time we would take back a pup/dog is if our contract has been breached in any way, shape or form.

What is the price of a Guardian puppy?
For our keeper puppies that will be in this program we will be asking a non-refundable fee of just $500 for males and $600 for females (with deposit down to reserve of $300). Failing to pay full amount for a Guardian puppy by their ready date will result in cancellation of your reservation and no refund will be given. This is a very serious program and it will not works with "maybes" or "ifs". A different choice can be made at the breeders discretion.

So how does it work?
If you are applying for a young adult, or mature Guardian dog, she/he will already come to you completely health tested, and may have just a couple more breedings for us (depending on her age and the number of litters she has had) prior to her being spayed and released solely to you as a forever pet. When the Guardian dog is in season, the Guardian Family is required to contact us immediately (a delayed contact can affect our breeding schedule and cost us so this is mandatory). An intact female usually has a heat cycle that will last between 14 and 21 days. During this time, we will need access to her for breeding related appointments. Once she has been bred, she will remain with her Guardian Family until one week before her due date. At that time, the Guardian dog will come back to stay with us throughout her pregnancy, and will be returned once her pups are fully weaned approximately 8-10 weeks later. Guardian Families are welcomed and encouraged to visit with scheduled appointments while their Guardian Dog is at Rainbow Rose.

If you are applying for a Guardian Home puppy, she/he will come to you at 8 -16 weeks of age. During the year and a half, October Glory will have her health testing completed. Once we receive all of the results from her health testing, we are then able to assess whether or not she will enter our breeding program. If for any reason we decide not to breed the Guardian Puppy placed with you (this is a decision solely made by October Glory) we will then pay to spay the Guardian puppy at no cost to you, return your deposit and she will remain a forever family pet with her Guardian Family.

If you are receiving a Guardian Home Puppy, we ask for monthly photos and updates during the first year so that we can watch him/her develop, and update our website. We also will require a visit to our Guardian Family’s home every few months during the first year to assess the Guardian Puppy, as well as build a relationship with her for the future. Occasionally, we will ask our Guardian Families to bring the puppy to us for a visit so that she can get comfortable with our home for when she will be here with us in the future having babies.

Puppy being sold on what type of registration?
____NO PAPERS, NO BREEDING RIGHTS
____LIMITED AKC (no breeding rights)
____FULL AKC (with breeding rights)(if purchasing Full AKC, disregard the spay/neuter section of this contract)

A. To the best of seller’s knowledge, said puppy/dog is in healthy and sound condition at the time of owner taking full possession. New owner was given the puppy/poodle vaccination/worming record. New owner must have the puppy examined within 48 hours by their vet after taking full possession. New Owner(s) has 48 hours from the time of delivery/pickup of this health guarantee.
*New Owner's Initial's:_____ Breeder's Initial's:________

****New Owner is required to give, or have a licensed veterinarian, administer the remaining puppy vaccines to said puppy. Parvovirus and distemper vaccines must be given on dates of health record, following first vaccines given by breeder. If buyer fails to continue vaccines as stated above, the parties agree that any guarantee will be considered null and void. Keep shot records from your vet, or receipts from purchase of shots.
B. All puppies/dogs are PET QUALITY only, this does not mean they are, or are not show/breed quality, and will be spayed/neutered if sold with limited registration or no papers.
C. Health guarantee does not cover any parasite, internal or external or Parvovirus as this is a treatable condition. All costs are the responsibility of the new owner(s).
D. This puppy has had a veterinary health check on ___/___/____ and has been deemed healthy by my licensed Veterinarian (4V Animal Clinic, Dr. Shawn Vaverka). This puppy is guaranteed to the original new owner(s) for two (2) years against the following, genetic diseases the parents were tested for and/or a genetic disease they were clear of. If puppy/poodle has been found to been diagnosed with a genetic disease (verified by 2 licensed Vets) and is affected and sire and dam of said puppy/poodle were not tested for the genetic disease, October Glory Standard Poodles will test the sire and dam to check if they are a carrier. If parents test clear, the health/genetic guarantee is VOIDED.
**October Glory Standard Poodles does not, and cannot, guarantee against Addison’s disease on the grounds that there is no genetic/pre-screening/pre-breeding test for the poodles (unless the sire or dam is currently affected), and that Addison’s Disease can be a common illness affecting the Standard Poodle as a breed. Whether the puppy/poodle was for pet only or for breeding/show purposes, if this puppy/poodle is found to suffer from a genetic/hereditary disease despite the sire and dam being tested clear, and it is found to be life threatening at the time of examination by 2 licensed Vets, and is documented to significantly shorten the puppies/poodles life, and/or decrease quality of life, the original puppy/poodle can be returned to October Glory Standard Poodles (if the owner chooses) in order for a replacement puppy or poodle of equal or lesser value to be given when available. If the owner chooses to keep the puppy, despite any disease/ailment, no refund or replacement of the puppy will be given. Refunds of any kind are at the breeders discretion. Documentation of the illness must be given from 2 licensed veterinarians. The written allegations must be supported by x-rays/conclusive testing and then concurred with through evaluation by a Veterinarian of the Breeders choosing. The costs incurred to support that the dog has a serious genetic problem(s) rests with the puppy owner.
October Glory Standard Poodles is not responsible for ANY cost concerning the puppy/poodle. This health guarantee does not cover hip or elbow problems as joint problems can be environmental and due to too much exercise early on and is not completely hereditary. The only hereditary trait would be in the actual joint socket itself. Owner must send these results to breeder immediately following the testing results and X-rays of the joints in question.
**E. Any moneys placed on a puppy is non-refundable but is transferable to any other future litter if there is an opening on the waitlist pending the reason for transfer, unless otherwise stated, in this contract.
*New Owner's Initial's:________ Breeder's Initial's:________

Unfortunately we must include the following: In the case of the puppy's demise that was not caused by neglect or abuse on or before the above listed date, (48 hours from purchase) a written statement from your licensed veterinarian must be sent to Rainbow Rose Poodles, stating that the puppy has indeed passed away, and the cause of death. This is an unfortunate step but necessary. Also, in a perfect world we would like to have each puppy we place to stay in their original purchasing home. Things do happen, should you be unable to fulfill this contract by the above agreed date, you agree to contact October Glory Standard Poodles, in writing, phone, Facebook or email and let us know BEFORE the puppy has been placed into a new home. We require a right of first return or reclamation, that the puppy be returned to us if you cannot keep him or her FOR ANY REASON. You are not free to give the puppy away to another family member or anyone without receiving permission from us first by initialing and signing this contract. This contract is still your responsibility to enforce in the puppy's new home, should we not receive confirmation of the puppy's spaying/neutering by the above listed date (in spay/neuter section), as the original purchaser, YOU will then be liable for the fines for breaching the contract (if you are purchasing Limited AKC/pet only status).
*New Owner's Initials:_______ Breeder's Initial's:________

Refunds/Returns: If for any reason, the new owner(s) is no longer able to care of the puppy/poodle; after he/she has been spayed/neutered, we will be glad to take it back(if we have room) at no charge after the age of 6 months. There will be no refund.
**(October Glory Standard Poodles ALWAYS gets first right of take back before puppy is 3 years old. And we are to be notified after 4 months if you’re re-homing the dog.) If said puppy/poodle is not returned to us and/or we are not notified that the dog is no longer in original buyers possession buyer agrees to pay Rainbow Rose Poodles the sum of $2,000.00.
Deworming/Shots:
All of our dogs and puppies are treated regularly for fleas and worms, however puppies need to continue treatment in order to prevent them from recurring. Once a puppy leaves October Glory Standard Poodles, we are no longer responsible for these puppies apart from their well being. Each puppy is given age appropriate vaccines before leaving breeder. New owner(s) are given the puppy/poodles updated shot/worming record. **Should your puppy become ill after it leaves October Glory Standard Poodles (within 48 hours), and your veterinarian determines that the illness came from October Glory Standard Poodles, we will require that you pay for our vet to take for a second opinion before we take the puppy back. As responsible breeders, we cannot take back a sick puppy/poodle if the sickness did not come from our home for fear it could spread and make our other puppies/poodles sick. If sickness was confirmed by vet the puppy/poodle was not ill before owner taking possession, October Glory Standard Poodles is not responsible for any cost concerning the puppy/poodle. It is the responsibility of the owner(s).
We require and request that your puppy is not exposed to other animals, that have not or you are not sure has had all its needed vaccinations, walks in parks (dog parks especially), or rest areas, or any areas stray animals may roam until your puppy has received all of its vaccines at 16 weeks of age and is fully immunized.
**The Parvovirus is only a vaccine to help prevent your puppy/poodle from contacting the illness, but it is not 100% guaranteed that puppy/poodle cannot contact the illness. If at any time your puppy/poodle is exposed and becomes ill from the Parvovirus, October Glory Standard Poodles is NOT responsible and will not refund or replace whether the puppy/poodle survives or dies. All bills will be the responsibility of the owner(s).
**Changing your puppies food may cause your puppy to get upset stomach and loose stool (diarrhea). This can lead to hypoglycemia, dehydration and illness for your puppy. Please make sure to mix the new food with your puppy’s regular food and ease it into the new, to lessen the chance of any of
this your puppy has been eating Purina Puppy Chow or Purina Pro Plan Puppy food. This transition period should be done over a 3 to 4 week time frame gradually adding the new food to the original food fed by us.

**Genetic health guarantee: If the dog is diagnosed as having OFA rated Mild or Severe hip dysplasia, von Willebrand’s disease, degenerative myelopathy, cardiac disease, or genetic eye disease at any time during the dog’s life Seller shall at Buyer’s option, replace dog under terms specified above (Buyer pays for transportation and any incidental or veterinary expenses incurred, but not a new dog). Written proof of spaying or neutering of afflicted animal is required before replacement animal is provided and the affected dog MUST be returned to October Glory StandardPoodles before any exchange can take place. Seller will require OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) confirmation of hip dysplasia, DNA confirmation of vWD, diagnosis from 2 veterinarians confirming cardiac disease, or inherited eye disease confirmed by a ACVO veterinarian as well as documentation from any veterinarians and/or lab technicians involved.
***Buyer’s obligations for responsible pet ownership:
Buyer agrees:
  1. To give this dog the proper care, nutrition (must feed 4 star or 5 star grain-inclusive food as rated on Dogfoodadvisor.com or health guarantee automatically voids), and shelter necessary to allow the dog to achieve his\her full potential, and,
  2. To notify Seller should this dog develop any health conditions tracked by Poodle Health Registry, and
  3. That this dog will carry the seller’s kennel prefix or kennel name “October Glory Standard’s”, “OG’s”, and under such registered name when exhibited in matches and any AKC/UKC sanctioned events, (if sold with papers) and

  9. Buyer agrees to give, AT MINIMUM, a growth and development update every 6 months MINIMUM, including a picture with a time stamp ( time and date written on it) of the dog with shaved face and paws. (this can be discussed if needed). Record their height and weight and any other updates there may be.
Please note...
***If a pediatric (before 18 months of age) total spay or neuter is performed, all Genetic Disease Guarantees including joint related conditions such as hip or elbow dysplasia will become null and void. Liability Conditions:
The seller’s guarantee is null and void if any of the above-mentioned conditions are not met, or if there is a change of ownership of this dog. Seller is not responsible for this dog if it has suffered neglect, mistreatment, or exhibits temperament faults that are the result of lack of training, leadership, neglect, or abuse by the owner. All parties mutually agree that all reasonable attorneys’ fees and court cost shall be paid by the buyer. In the event that a court of law finds any part of this agreement unenforceable, all remaining provisions not deemed unenforceable will be enforced to the full extent of the law. This agreement sets forth the entire agreement between parties. This agreement may not be changed, altered or amended except in a writing signed by both parties.
*New Owner's Initials ______ Breeder's Initial's:________ I, the undersigned buyer have read, understand and agree with all of the terms and conditions set forth in this contract and or spay/neuter agreement if your puppy/poodle is limited registration or sold with no papers.

*Arbitration. All claims and disputes arising under or relating to this Agreement are to be settled by binding arbitration in the state of Oklahoma or another location mutually agreeable to the parties. An award of arbitration may be confirmed in a court of competent jurisdiction.
What Does Arbitration Cost? According to a survey by Public Citizen, a consumer watchdog group, the cost of initiating an arbitration is significantly higher than the cost of filing a lawsuit. On average, it costs about $9,000 to initiate a claim to arbitrate a contract claim worth $20,000 (versus about $250 to file that action in state court). Keep in mind that the people in the dispute pay the arbitrators, and arbitration fees can run to $10,000 or more. Add in administrative costs and your own attorney fees (if you hire one) and the process might even cost more than litigation.

Our breeding program was founded October 2015.

Due to some unscrupulous breeders we have been forced to change our kennel name several times over the years to avoid unwanted affiliation with random breeders! Our first name was stolen after a week, our 2nd was stolen after a month, our 3rd was stolen, our 4th was mistaken for a puppy mill breeder and our 5th and most recent was stolen after 8 months...

NOW WE HOPE TO END THIS CURSE OF NAMES WITH OUR NEWEST NAME OCTOBER GLORY STANDARD POODLES as of 3/22/21 OUR NEW KENNEL NAME IS OCTOBER GLORY STANDARD POODLES AND WE HOPE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. Now I know what you are thinking..."well, why not get the name trademarked?" Well to get a trademark takes almost a year...it also is not cheap. We ARE working on getting one for this name. We searched and searched GLOBALLY to ensure NO ONE ELSE HAD THIS NAME like we did with all the other names...so HOPEFULLY NO ONE STEALS THIS ONE FROM US.
